New 12 Week Beginner Class!

Welcome! Tai Chi Revolution is offering a twelve week course for new beginners or returning students to learn the 108 moves in a Tai Chi set. No experience is necessary to take this class. Come and join us in our well lit studio and learn how the practice of Tai Chi can improve your balance by increasing your leg strength and endurance. No special equipment is needed and once you learn the body mechanics and alignments tai chi is portable and you can do it anywhere (like the park in the summer!). All you need to bring to class is YOU!!

If you’ve always wondered about Tai Chi and would like to learn in a friendly atmosphere this is the place for you!

Here’s all the important information:

When: The new beginner class starts on Tuesday night September 7th (6 – 7:30pm) and continues through November 23, 2021.

Where: Tai Chi Revolution Studio, located at 2817 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13206. The entrance to the studio is around the corner on North Edwards Ave. There is a small parking lot in front of the studio.

Cost: $120 for the 12 week class (payable by cash or check the first night of class)

What to wear: Comfortable fitting clothes and flat closed toed shoes (sneakers or something similar)

Mask requirements: We value your health! We require everyone who enters the studio to wear a mask at all times while in the studio and during the class. We open the windows slightly for improved ventilation and wipe down studio surfaces with disinfectant wipes after class.

We’re baaaack… with a New Beginner Class!!

Tired of being cooped up in the house? Looking to get some of your flexibility and focus back? Would you like to begin to improve your balance and muscle strength? Do you enjoy learning in a fun and supportive environment? Well you’ve come to to right place! We are happy to announce that we are going to start a new six week beginner class!

In this beginner class you will learn:

  • the first 17 forms of the set
  • proper alignment and angles
  • body mechanics

Tai Chi is a low impact slow motion exercise that is done without pause and addresses some of the key components of fitness: muscle strength, flexibility and balance. You can start a Tai Chi practice no matter what your level of fitness or health because Tai Chi may be altered to fit the level of the student.

This class is great for someone who has never done Tai Chi before or someone who used to practice and would like a refresher class to help get back into the practice. Our studio is an open, bright and relaxing environment to learn in. We have friendly instructors and enthusiastic students who support people who are new to Tai Chi. All are welcome! You’ll find the specifics of the class below.

What: A new 6 week beginner class – Tuesday evenings

When: Starts on Tuesday, June 22 from 6 -7:30 pm (last class will be on Tuesday, July 27th).

Where: 2817 James Street – corner of James and North Edwards in Eastwood (Syracuse, NY). Look for the Moonlight Deli on James St. and turn onto North Edwards. We are on the North Edwards side of the building where there is a parking lot (free parking in this lot). Our sign is in the window of the studio.

Cost: $60 for the 6 week class. We accept cash or checks (sorry no credit cards). Payment accepted at the start of class.

What to wear: comfortable loose fitting clothing and comfortable flat shoes that enclose you whole foot (no flip flops).

Jump Start 2020 with a New Tai Chi Class!

Yikes!  It’s happening!  2019 is rapidly coming to a close and a new year is almost upon us.  For me, the start of a new year brings an opportunity to refocus on my own health and well-being and bringing balance back into my life.  That’s something that I often struggle with and Tai Chi has become an integral part of helping me maintain that mind – body balance.

Here at Tai Chi Revolution we’d like to invite you to join us for a new six week class (class details below).  This “beginner’s class” is designed to give students a foundation in Tai Chi movement principles, basic concepts and techniques, and the health benefits of regular practice. This class is for people who have no prior experience with Tai Chi or who have practiced Tai Chi but have been away from it and would like to get back into it.  This class is conducted in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment where everyone is welcome.

Our practice of Tai Chi is focused on the mind/body interaction and integrating slow, intentional movements to help strengthen, relax, coordinate and integrate the physical body and mind to improve overall health.  Regular practice of Tai chi can improve balance control, fitness, and flexibility, and may offer the benefits of reducing the risk of falls.  It is safe for people of all ages, as it does not put too much stress on the muscles and joints.   We hope to see you at our studio!

You’re Just In Time! New Beginner Class Starting on 8/29/18.

Are you looking to try something new?  Tai Chi Revolution is starting a six week beginner class on Wednesday nights and we’d love to see you there.  No prior experience is necessary although if you’ve done Tai Chi before and drifted away from it over time – you are also welcome to join us.  Practicing Tai Chi on a regular basis has been proven to provide health benefits, improved balance, and mental relaxation.  This six week class is an excellent opportunity to learn the basic foundations of Tai Chi and the first 17 moves to start you on your Tai Chi journey.  We hope to see you at our studio next week.

It’s Back! The Full 108 moves set for Beginners – Come Join Us!!

We are excited to announce that Tai Chi Revolution is going to offer the full 108 move set as a Beginner’s Class starting on April 11th, 2018

It’s been a while since we’ve offered this class but its time has come!  Our instructors will take you through the full set of 108 moves over this 12 week course.  While this is a beginners class EVERYONE is welcome! Maybe you are completely new to Tai Chi, or took a break to focus on other demands in your life, or maybe you’ve been practicing but you enjoy the community of others or supporting people who are new to Tai Chi – wherever you are at in your Tai Chi journey we look forward to you joining us.  Just remember – you do NOT need ANY prior experience with Tai Chi to participate in this class.  You will learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi and experience the meditative effects of this practice in a relaxed and friendly setting.  Regular and on-going practice of Tai Chi has been proven to provide many beneficial health effects. Our studio is an open and welcoming space and well suited to taking advantage of this experience.  Our members will be there to help support new comers and to share their experiences.

Join Us for an Open House and Learn Tai Chi!

Tai Chi Revolution was at the Wescott Street Cultural Festival today where we had the opportunity to talk about the benefits of Tai Chi and conduct a number of demonstrations of the first 17 moves of the set.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by and watched or talked to one of our members.

If you missed our booth or heard something that interested you and would like to learn more, we are holding an open house at our Studio on Sunday, October 1, 2017 and we look forward to meeting/seeing you.  We will do a few demonstrations of the first 17 where you can watch or jump right in!  No previous experience is necessary.  Light refreshments will be served.
